Terms & Conditions

Bookings:

 Trip bookings are to be made by calling Sarah on 07863774909 between the hours of 08:00 & 20:00 only (7 days a week). Any calls outside this time will not be responded to until the next day.

Deposits:

 In order to secure your booking, a deposit must be received by Midnight on the day of booking or our system will auto cancel your booking making it available to others.

If your trip is cancelled by the Skipper for any reason i.e weather unsuitability or breakdown the full deposit will be refunded. This can take up to 3 working days to appear in receivers account. 

If cancelling a trip with less than 7 days notice, deposit will be lost. If 7 or more days notice is given, deposit will be refunded or you can re use deposit to book another trip.

Once your trip is booked via the phone, Sarah will send a deposit payment request link via SMS with simple instructions to follow for paying by card. Once payment is received, your trip will be confirmed.

Deposits required are as follows: Individual Bookings £20pp & Charter Bookings £100. 

Confirming Trips:

 Anglers will receive a generic text message by 18:00 the evening before your scheduled trip confirming the trip is either going ahead or being cancelled due to unsuitable weather conditions. Also to request Rod Hire & Bait requirements. 

 Drug & Alcohol Policy:

  Alcohol may be consumed onboard as long as it is within moderation and small amounts. Lager, Beer and Cider are acceptable but Wines or Spirits are Strictly Prohibited.

Recreational Drugs are NOT permitted to be carried or used whilst onboard under any circumstances. 

Medical Conditions:

If you suffer from any medical condition or are on prescribed medication then please inform the Skipper in confidence when boarding and give clear information on where medication is kept for cases of emergency & Next of Kin Details.

Rod / Tackle Hire & Bait:

All Hired Equipment is the responsibility of the person hiring and instruction of use will be given and demonstrated by the Skipper. If you are unsure of how to operate or need further instruction please ask the Skipper. 

Rods must be placed within rod rests when baiting or unhooking fish and must not be placed on deck.

Equipment that becomes damaged, lost or due to misuse must be paid for at cost.

Rod Hire is not included within the trip price & must be requested upon booking or the evening before the trip during the confirmation communications.  

Bait is not included in the trip price and any bait requests must be made the evening before the trip during the confirmation for Mackerel, Lug & Squid. Other baits are also available but must be pre ordered at least 2 days prior to trip.

For cost of Rod Hire & Baits please refer to Price list. Tackle is supplied with Rod Hire but this excludes Wreck fishing due to high risk of tackle losses.

Suitable Clothing:

It is the responsibility of the Angler to ensure they have with them suitable clothing for the trip. Merlin Sea Angling strongly advise bringing warm clothing and waterproofs in the event of cold wet conditions at sea. 

Food & Drink:

Merlin Sea Angling does not provide food & anglers are strongly advised to bring with them enough food for the duration of their trip. Merlin & Luna-Sea do have a microwave & gas 2 burner hob if you require facilities to heat food.

Hot Drinks i.e Tea, Coffee, Hot Chocolate & Bovril are supplied Free of Charge throughout the trip. Cold Drinks are also available at cost.

Children & Families:

Families are very welcome on our vessels & we do advertise family only trips which are tailored for families with children. Children however, must be kept under control by the parent(s) or guardian(s) whilst onboard and must not run around the deck or climb on any of the vessel fixings. 

Children under the age of 6 are permitted onboard but must have adult supervision on a 1to1 basis. Please arrange with Sarah on adult to child ratios onboard. In order to book a family 2-3hr trip there must be at least one child who is aged between 4 and 12yrs. These trips are are put on especially for giving families with young children the experience and joys of fishing.
